Jeanne M. Mickel, CPA
Jeannie Mickel is a partner at Manzi & Associates L.L.C. For the past 27 years, she has specialized in providing auditing services to employee benefit plans, labor unions, trade associations, and other nonprofit organizations. She has dedicated her career to this industry. As the partner in charge of the Firm’s employee benefit practice, she is devoted to the continuous improvement in employee benefit audit approaches and providing quality services to our clients.
Her area of expertise is in auditing employee benefit plans and labor unions while navigating the complex world of federal reporting and labor compliance. She realizes how critical it is to stay on top of governmental developments that affect the Firm’s clients. She prides herself on her ability to dig deeper into an issue to get a thorough understanding of her clients’ needs. Her knowledge and experience has contributed to the Firm’s positive reputation with various regulatory agencies.
She has a strong commitment to the training and development of the Firm’s associates and devotes a substantial amount of her time coordinating in-house training and seminars. She also speaks on regulatory and financial topics at seminars presented to clients and industry associations.
Jeannie is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts at Lowell. Jeannie is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in Massachusetts. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants and the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans.
Edward, Manzi, CPA MST
After over 30 years at Manzi & Associates L.L.C., our Managing Partner, Edward Manzi has announced his official retirement date as December 31, 2019. Although he is officially retiring, he will remain as a consultant with Manzi & Associates L.L.C. through this transition. After his official retirement, he will be available as the need arises, especially in regards to Internal Revenue Service and Department of Labor representation.
He has vast experience in providing services to employee benefit plans, labor unions, non-profit organizations, corporations, partnerships, and individuals. He also provides consulting services, tax planning services, estate, and gift planning services to the Firm’s clients. He frequently speaks to many different organizations and entities on various ERISA and Union topics and performs formal presentations for the Massachusetts Coalition of Taft Hartley Funds.
He was a former Internal Revenue Service agent for eight years and an investigator for the U.S. Department of Labor, Pension, Welfare Benefit Security Administration (EBSA). He was extensively involved in the examination and investigation of pension, health and welfare plans, Taft-Hartley plans and bank's trust departments throughout the Northeast region of the country.
He left the U.S. Federal Government in August 1989 to enter private practice. He received his Master's Degree in Taxation from Bentley College and a BBA in Accounting from the University of Massachusetts - Amherst in 1979. He is also a Vietnam Veteran having served in the U.S. Army from 1972 to 1975.
Mr. Manzi is a Certified Public Accountant licensed to practice in the state of Massachusetts. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants and the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans.
Theresa L. Hussey, CPA
Theresa Hussey is a partner at Manzi & Associates L.L.C. She brings more than 30 years of extensive auditing and tax experience to the Firm. She performs services to a wide variety of industries including construction, manufacturing, professional services, employee benefit plans, labor unions, and nonprofit organizations. Terry is the partner in charge of the corporate audit and tax practice. She is devoted to monitoring and learning the ever-changing complexities of tax law and accounting standards so she can provide quality services to our clients.
Terry is dedicated to helping clients achieve business success by helping them establish practical and sound tax and financial processes. She is committed to delivering tax and financial services that meet each client’s unique objectives.
She is also responsible for monitoring the entire engagement process for our clients during attest and non-attest services. She is a technical audit partner who performs the final review and approval of financial statements and reports.
Terry is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts at Lowell and is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in Massachusetts.
